Episode 71 - Day 27 of 30 Days To More Sales - The Bundle That Raised Order Value Without Another Customer

Oct 06, 2026

You do not always need more customers to make more money.

Sometimes you need to give the customer who is already shopping a good reason to buy a little more.

That sounds simple.

But this is where I see product businesses get bundles wrong all the time.

They take three products.

Put them together.

Knock a few dollars off.

Call it a bundle.

And then wonder why nobody buys it.

We’ve done versions of this in our own businesses too.

The products made sense together to us because we already knew what every product did.

But the customer still had to figure out why she needed all of them.

That was the problem.

The bundle made sense to the business. It didn’t necessarily make sense to the customer.

Once we started thinking about the bundle around what the customer was actually trying to accomplish, the offer became a whole lot easier to understand.

And that’s what we’re talking about in Day 27 of 30 Days to More Sales.

Because a good bundle is not just more stuff for less money.

It should make the buying decision easier and give the customer a clear reason to put more in the cart.

IN THIS EPISODE, YOU’LL HEAR:

  • Why putting several products together doesn’t automatically create a good bundle
  • What we learned from bundles that made sense to us but made the customer do too much thinking
  • Why the best bundles start with the customer instead of excess inventory
  • How a bundle can increase order value without finding another customer
  • Why the biggest discount isn’t necessarily what makes a bundle attractive
  • How I think about which products naturally belong together
  • Why your best-selling product can be a strong place to start
  • The mistake to avoid before you spend time creating listings, photos, and graphics

YOUR ONE CLEAR NEXT STEP

Look at your best-selling product and ask:

What would make this purchase feel more complete for the customer?

Don’t build the bundle yet.

Don’t decide the discount yet.

And don’t start making graphics.

Just identify one bundle idea that feels useful from the customer’s point of view.

Then use the episode and today’s worksheet to decide whether the idea actually works.
