Episode 55 - Day 11 of 30 Days To More Sales - How to Use Customer Reviews for Better Product Marketing Copy

Sep 22, 2026

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat in a meeting with a whiteboard full of words trying to find the perfect way to explain a product.

We change the headline.

Change it back.

Move the words around.

Make the sentence longer because apparently longer must mean better.

And then I’ll open a customer review and think:

Well, there it is.

The customer said it in one normal sentence.

No fancy marketing language. No carefully crafted brand words.

She simply told us what was bothering her before she bought and what got better afterward.

That’s what we’re talking about in Day 11 of 30 Days to More Sales.

Because sometimes we’re so busy trying to explain our products that we miss the words our customers are already using.

And their version is often better because another customer can hear it and immediately think:

That’s exactly what I need.

IN THIS EPISODE, YOU’LL HEAR:

  • Why your best marketing language may already be hiding in your customer reviews
  • What happened when we stopped talking about our product and started listening to the moment our customer needed it
  • Why the star rating only tells part of the story
  • What customer reviews can tell you about the problem, worry, and result
  • Why one little word in a review can reveal what almost stopped the sale
  • How to spot small benefits customers love that you may barely be talking about
  • Where to look for customer language on Amazon, Shopify, Walmart.com, TikTok Shop, Etsy, email, and customer service
  • How to keep customer language sounding human instead of polishing it back into marketing speak

YOUR ONE CLEAR NEXT STEP

Choose one important product and read through ten real customer reviews, emails, questions, comments, or messages.

If you don’t have ten yet, start with what you have.

Don’t try to rewrite your whole website.

Your job is simply to find one phrase your customer said better than you did and use it somewhere in your marketing this week.

Day 12: We Knew Her Age — We Still Didn’t Know Why She Bought

Tomorrow, we’re leaving the made-up customer profile behind and following a real order.

We’ll look at where she found the product, what she chose, what helped her trust it, and what happened next.

Because knowing your customer’s age doesn’t tell you why she bought that day.
